Erik Stolterman and The Digital Transformation Lab, Ltd.

Erik Stolterman has the vision to increase the competitiveness and success of the society, public sector, and private sector of Japan by providing a new definition of Digital Transformation at the three levels of society, public sector, and private sector especially considering Japan’s current circumstances, supported by The Digital Transformation Lab.

DX for Society

Digital Transformation (DX) influences all aspects of human life. DX is not solely a technical development, it is a broad and deep change merging the real and digital space in a way that influences how we as a society approach and deal with a highly complex and changing world. DX has the potential to improve and lead to standards of wholesome and cultured living and a sustainable future with a smarter society and a good life for each individual.

DX for Public sector (national government/ local government)

Digital Transformation (DX) makes it possible to develop smart government services in every organization and category and to assist innovative value creation. DX also makes it possible to improve the value of areas and regions by enabling happier, richer, and more passionate conditions for residents by creating solutions that can make residents more safe and secure and lead to a comfortable and sustainable society. DX encourages everyone to challenge existing structures and procedures and in a collaborative way think about innovative solutions that are more resident-oriented. DX requires transforming the attitude and culture of the public sector to become innovative, agile, and collaborative. DX requires all stakeholders to participate in the transformation while being initiated and led by top management.

DX for Private sector

Digital Transformation (DX) can empower industries to transform the delivery of their value, products, and services, to accomplish their business goals and visions. DX also makes it possible to improve the overall value of a company in the industry by changing the delivery method to offer a higher value to their customers. DX requires organizations in the industry to redesign all elements of the organization, including strategy, organizational behavior, organizational structure, organizational culture, education, governance, and procedures to create an optimized ecosystem based on the use of digital technology. DX requires all employees to participate in the transformation while being initiated and led by top management."
